IT gURLs

Kenapa saya milih kuliah di jurusan IT?
suatu hari waktu duduk di bangku sekolah menengah atas di Kota Bogor, gua nanya ke teman sebangku gua, namanya Tri Ratna Ayu, panggilannya Nana Pedok :D *peace Na

Gua : “na, enaknya gua kuliah jurusan apa ya? pinginnya yang banyak Matematika nya, tapi jangan jurusan Matematika soalnya nti mentok-mentok nya jadi guru matematika”
Nana Pedok: “hmmm…apa ya?”
Setelah Nana berfikir cukup lama……
Nana Pedok: “kuliah jurusan IT aja Ruth”
Gua: “apaan tuh Na??”
Nana Pedok: ” (_ _)!
udah kuliah IT ajah,,banyak pake logika and matematika..gua juga mau ambil IT kok”

Akhirnya gua pun menemukan titik terang #lebay, It was a coincidence :D
IT staff : “ada tuh natar 1 lab komputer mau diinstal IGOS semua”
Saya: ” apa tuh IGOS? gimana cara nginstal nya?”
IT staff: “lu cari tau sendiri deh ya :D
Saya: ” :s “

I found it very interesting, so mulai dari situ lah saya ngoprek Linux *akhirnya gua merasa bisa mengerjakan sesuatu yang berbau IT :D *..lalu saya diajakin join POSS (Pemberdayaan Open Source Software) sama mbak Rosalina (mbak paling baik se-Jababeka..dulu masih single..mbaknya ga pernah pacaran,,alim banget..tapi sekarang udah punya suami and bayi perempuan..) di kampus President University,..

IT..thanx to Doc.Alvin, Doc.Francis and Balthas..

Saking cintanya sama nih Linux, Alhamdulillah gua jadi finalis INAICTA 2009 di kategori Open Source, hal ini pula semakin memantapkan langkah saya di dunia OpenSource.. :)

Come on gurls, we can do it!! cewek bisa eksis di dunia IT itu ga impossible kok :) cuma masih agak langka aja :D

Okeh deh, gua tunggu kalian cewek-cewek IT untuk menggemparkan dunia IT dengan kehadiran kita :)

OSI (Open System Interconnect)

For beginners, it is easier for you to memorize the OSI layer by this phrase “Please Do Not Throw Sausage Pizza Away”

  1. Physical : Cables
  2. DataLink : MAC address (unique social address for every hardware)..to find out your MAC address,if you are on Linux, you can go to your terminal, then run command “ifconfig“..if you are on Windows, you can go to your command promt, you can go to your command prompt, then run command “ipconfig
  3. Network : network security, ip addressing (public and private IP address) how a machine is accessible through theInternet. Where IP addresses are defined.
  4. Transport : describe the most important protocol nowadays (TCP and UDP).The concept of statefullness. Stateful Firewall.
    • *TCP : connection-oriented protocol (rebuffer itself, air correction, acknowledgement).
    • *UDP : connectionless protocol (you can drop packages..real-time streaming.video streaming).
  5. Session : establish and maintain user sessions across the network. Responsible for providing securitization. If it fails, certain session need to be retransmitted
  6. Presentation : Translate application to network format and vice versa. In order to send application to the Internet. Responsible for : protocol convertion, character convertion. Seamless communication for multipleprotocol stacks. Present data to the lower level of OSI model.
  7. Application : for applications specifically written to run over the network. It’s gotta access the network services. E.g: DNS,FTP,TFTP,SNMP,telnet. (smartDefense)

Cintaku Berat di Koneksi

Bertahan di dial-up
Ada rasa ingin pindah ke ADSL
Tapi apa daya kocek tak mampu
Hanya meratapi nasib sambil menyusun topologi star

Walau aku bagaikan Trojan Horse versi 5.3
Dan ayahmu adalah Norton Antivirus 2010
Aku akan tetap bertahan
Dengan cara menjadi stealth virus

Ingin rasanya menulis “I Love You” di Photoshop

Sayang, kamu tau bahasa C++ ?
Ya, bahasa dengan segala command yang membingungkan
Sulit bukan?
Ketahuilah sayang, kalau mewujudkan cinta kita
Lebih susah dari membuat command C++

asam manis proses migrasi to OSS

Susahnyo menghadapi faktor-faktor both teknis maupun non-teknis dalam proses migrasi to OSS di instansi pemerintah replubik kita tercintah ini..

Mulai dari faktor non-teknis, which are:

nah sekarang kita bahas faktor teknis yang tak kalah mengesankan :D , which are:

  • CDROM ruksak plus semua USB ports mati **o my gosh…..kill me..kill me..kill me**

I’ll be right back dengan kisah-kisah selanjutna  ;)

Ketika

Ketika wanita menangis,

itu bukan berarti dia sedang mengeluarkan senjata terampuhnya,

melainkan justru berarti dia sedang mengeluarkan senjata terakhirnya.

Ketika wanita menangis,

Kannel 1.4.3 and Itegno W3800 U

Hai…
It’s me again…
I’m doing an SMS Gateway development using kannel version 1.4.3 and Itegno W3800 U on my lovely Fedora 10.
But, the process is not as smooth as I expected..
Here is my kannel.conf

#CORE
group = core
admin-port = 13000
smsbox-port = 13001
admin-password = pwd
status-password = pwd

device = /dev/ttyUSB0
speed = 115200

global-sender = +62818445009
log-level = 0
log-file = “/var/log/kannel/smsbox.log”
access-log = “/var/log/kannel/access.log”

#exec = /usr/local/bin/kannel_incoming %t %q %a
get-url = “http://localhost/~playsms/plugin/gateway/kannel/geturl.php?t=%t&q=%q&a=%a”

After all the setting, I tried to run bearerbox /etc/kannel.conf

does anyone have solution about this issue??

thank you

Virtual Network with SUN VirtualBox

Thesis oh Thesis… :)

For my thesis purpose, I need to have more than 1 PCs, so I decided to install SUN Virtualbox from an rpm package which I got from here.

First, I need to tell you that my laptop runs on top of Fedora 10.

Be sure that you enter as the root user in the command shell. Just type su -

I install the package by typing

yum -y install VirtualBox-2.1.4_42893_fedora9-1.i386.rpm

After the installation, you can access Virtualbox in GUI mode by going to Applications -> System Tools -> SUN xVM Virtualbox

You can start installing guest OS.

I installed OpenSuse 11, Ubuntu 8.10, and Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.2 on it.

I think that’s all for the preparation :)

Let’s start building the virtual network.

First, create a virtual ethernet card for each guest OS

in your terminal, type:

VBoxTunctl -t theExpectedNameForYourVirtualEthCard -u OwnerName

I wish to have three eth card to be assigned to each guest OS,.So I did the following in my system:

[root@localhost ~]# VBoxTunctl -t vbSuse -u rya
Set ‘vbSuse’ persistent and owned by uid 500

[root@localhost ~]# VBoxTunctl -t vbUbuntu -u rya
Set ‘vbUbuntu’ persistent and owned by uid 500

[root@localhost ~]# VBoxTunctl -t vbRhel -u rya
Set ‘vbRhel’ persistent and owned by uid 500

All of them are not automatically started…So I need to start them by typing:

[root@localhost ~]# ifconfig vbSuse up

[root@localhost ~]# ifconfig vbUbuntu up

[root@localhost ~]# ifconfig vbRhel up

And I need to assign IP for each of them…

[root@localhost ~]# ifconfig vbUbuntu 192.168.3.33

[root@localhost ~]# ifconfig vbSuse 192.168.6.66

[root@localhost ~]# ifconfig vbRhel 192.168.9.99

Then,,,,

The next step is to do the routing…

[root@localhost ~]# route add -net 192.168.3.0/24 gw 192.168.3.33
[root@localhost ~]# route add -net 192.168.6.0/24 gw 192.168.6.66
[root@localhost ~]# route add -net 192.168.9.0/24 gw 192.168.9.99

after all, I configure each guest OS to have IP address and default gateway set.

Ooops….I almost forget to tell you about how to assign those virtual ethernet card to your Guest OS…

  • First, you select a guest OS, then,
  • in the right panel, you will see the network configuration
  • Click on it
  • Another window will show up
  • Thick on the check box “Enable Network Adapter”
  • For the “Attached To” drop down menu, select “Host Interface”. There will be a lists of available Host interface.
  • Choose one of the, and click OK

screenshot-ubuntu-settings

screenshot-untitled-1-openofficeorg-writer1

In my Ubuntu Guest OS. I assign IP and default gateway as follows:

ifconfig eth0 up

ifconfig eth0 192.168.3.22

route add default gateway 192.168.3.33

I did the same things for OpenSuse and RHEL guest OS.

OpenSuse

ifconfig eth0 up

ifconfig eth0 192.168.6.77

route add default gateway 192.168.6.66

RHEL

ifconfig eth0 up

ifconfig eth0 192.168.9.11

route add default gateway 192.168.9.99

After all, from your host, try to ping to all IP address of you guest OSes, from your guest OS to your host, and for one guest OS to another guest OS.

And Everything is done. :)
